Op Sceptre Week

Dear Resident,

Today is the start of Operation Sceptre, a National week long operation dedicated to tackling and reducing Knife Crime.

During this week we will be taking part in a number of activities from weapons sweeps, educational inputs at local schools and proactive targeting of problem locations. 

If you know of someone who carries a knife, we can pay them a visit to dissuade them from doing so and prevent future harm and offending. Support from partner agencies is available - we can make the relevant referrals for that person and get them the support they need. 

The week long initiative also encourages people like you to surrender any weapons that they may have and don't want or need. There are knife bins at Kingsfold Community Centre, Moss Side shops and Chorley and Leyland Police Stations. Just pop the weapons in the bins and we will dispose of them safely for you.

Alternatively,  we can collect the weapons from your home - just reply to the message below. You won't get in trouble for having the weapons - we want to make sure they are safely removed to prevent their use in future.
